Intelligent Servers Finalists for IT Europa Channel Awards

We are delighted to announce Intelligent Servers have been shortlisted as a finalist for the IT Europa Channel Awards.

The IT Europa Channel Awards recognise and reward excellence in European software development and IT and telecoms solutions. It highlights companies across Europe who have demonstrated their ability to provide industry-leading solutions for their customers.

Intelligent Servers have been shortlisted finalists in both Enterprise Solution of the Year and Best CSR Model.

Intelligent Servers have been nominated for our work during the pandemic, to aid a video conferencing company that required more data centre infrastructure and bandwidth to deal with the influx of conference calls and ensure 99.99% uptime.

The company was looking for the same M1000e Enclosure and M620 Blade configurations they already had in their data centres, so the new hardware could quickly and easily integrate with their current infrastructure.

As the customer needed to implement the changes during lockdown, they were finding other companies' lead times were too long. However, with Intelligent Servers having over 250,000 parts in stock we were able to configure, test and deliver within 2 days of their first order.

Being so impressed by the first order, the company made a total 7 more orders to deploy in their data centres across the UK.

The final orders consisted of eight refurbished Dell PowerEdge M1000e Enclosures each housing sixteen Dell PowerEdge M620 Blade Servers resulting in a total of 128 Blades. The total cost for all of the refurbished hardware was £160,000 inc vat.

Finally, the customer got a 3 year warranty on all orders and components, as well as remote set-up and support, so they can contact our team with over 10 years of experience any time they need, even for the smallest problems!

By choosing quality refurbished hardware from Intelligent Servers, the video conferencing company saved hundreds of thousands of pounds on the project compared to if they had gone directly to Dell for new hardware. This included a 70% cost saving on Memory and a massive 93% saving on SSDs. Our team also includes Dell hardware experts who are able to give professional technical advice and support.

Furthermore, buying refurbished hardware from Intelligent Servers offers a sustainable solution to preventing tech waste – as 85% typically goes to landfills. Reusing IT hardware prevents it from going to landfill and reduces the requirement to extract raw materials necessary to create new products. This helps to contribute to our Corporate Social Responsibility, by encouraging businesses to make both economical and environmentally friendly purchases for a more sustainable future.

The awards event takes place at Royal Lancaster, London on 19th May 2022.
